I purchased these UV protected cable ties to use outdoors in the Arizona sun to hold up some shade cloth. I really liked them when I installed them. They are strong and they locked very well. Last month it was time to take the shade cloth down and I had a big surprise. The cable ties not only were easy to cut. They each shattered and broke in several places in the process. After sitting in the sun for six months they had become brittle and inflexible. Not what I would expect from a UV protected product.

Having said all that. They did do the job I purchased them for. I have to cut them down at the end of the season anyway so I will probably buy them and use them again. I just won't use them anywhere where they would need to last for more than one season.
